Sacred Fire

Bass guitar with very distinctive shape, tribute to the Misfits, offered in a 5-string version.

Built for Leonardo Palestini, bassist of the roman band AETERNUM, it was the first Nadar Guitars instrument to be equipped with a bass hum pickup at the bridge and two guitar humb pickups, one in the middle and one in the neck; this combination of pickups and the possibility of mixing the sound between them gives a very distinctive, naturally distorted set of sounds.

The body was painted using the “Metal Flakes” technique: metal flakes measuring 0.4mm sprayed dry on a transparent background, colored with transparent “candy” colors; the flakes thus deposited were filled with transparent epoxy resin, poured over the various surfaces.

Due to the special shape of the instrument, the casting of the resin was done in very small successive amounts to keep dripping to a minimum.

Continuous sanding during the various stages of the process, made it possible to arrive at the conclusion ( after about 12 months of work ! ) for final painting with two-component polyurethanes and polishing.

The result is to have a transparent, three-dimensional glossy surface in which the flakes reflect every last ray of light.

Resin inlays on the fingerboard, which include a solar eclipse and the band’s logo, and green LEDs replacing the dots, complete the instrument.

Unique instrument in every part with a powerful, distorted sound.
